My Itronix XC6000 notebook computer came with 8MB RAM on one memory card. I had a second XC6000 with the same RAM card. I modified the card from the second computer, installed both in the first computer, and I had an XC6000 with 16MB RAM (plus some spare parts). Here are the details:
There are two types of RAM cards in the Itronix XC6000:
4MB RAM has 2 ICs
8MB RAM has 4 ICs
Either type of RAM card can be stacked with another of the same size to double the RAM capacity. Two 4MB cards give 8MB, and two 8MB cards give 16MB. But the two cards installed must be configured differently to work together. I use the titles "Bottom" and "Top" because I have Itronix RAM cards with stickers with these names.
The 4MB card has the number 25-0069-002. It holds 2 ICs (51W18160 1M x 16bit). On the top of the card are two columns of resistors labeled R101 thru R114 and R115 thru R128. With differing combinations of resistor placement, the card can be configured as the lower 4MB or as the higher 4MB:
| Bottom | Top | |
| R106 | 33Ohm | Open |
| R107 | Open | 33Ohm |
| R118 | 33Ohm | Open |
| R120 | Open | 33Ohm |
The 8MB card has the number 25-0070-100. It holds 4 ICs (51W17400 4M x 4bit). On the bottom of the card are two columns of resistors labeled R101 thru R114 and R115 thru R125. With differing combinations of resistor placement, the card can be configured as the lower 8MB or as the higher 8MB:
| Bottom | Top | |
| R102 | Open | 33Ohm |
| R104 | 33Ohm | Open |
| R106 | 33Ohm | Open |
| R107 | Open | 33Ohm |
| R116 | Open | 33Ohm |
| R117 | 33Ohm | Open |
